Woombye Soccer Club held its first sign-on last weekend with a good mix of new and existing players from 2009 signing on for what looks like another exciting year for the Snakes. A lot of work has been done in the off-season to prepare the grounds, which are in excellent condition, update and expand the canteen menu through the formation of a new canteen committee, and generally prepare the club for a very busy season coming up.

The 1st and 2nd division teams have already played a couple of pre-season games with the 1st div having two comfortable wins over Grange Thistle and Brisbane Force, and the 2nd div having one win and one loss. The pre-season games are continuing this weekend with 3 games being played on Saturday night 6th Feb against Nerang. The games kick-off at 2:00pm with a youth game followed by the 2nd div game at 4:00pm and the main game starting at 6:00pm.

The following Saturday, 13th Feb, there are another 3 games, this time against Southside Eagles from Brisbane. Kick-off for the youth and 2nd div games will be at 4:00pm with the 1st div at 6:00pm. Come down to the Snakepit, support your local team and see some fantastic soccer being played. Full bar and canteen facilities will be operating on both days.

Sign-on For those players not yet signed on, the club is holding sign-on days again this weekend, Sat 6th Feb and Sun 7th Feb, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Remember, any new players must provide a copy of their birth certificate.
