Heavy rain and storms again limited play at the Range Croquet Club in Maleny. The opening round of the Regional Golf Croquet Pennant competition was washed out, and we shall have to wait for the second round at Noosa on March 1 to judge our chances in that contest, in which we are joined by some players from Coolum.
Vince and Val Carbery played three Golf Croquet games, with Vince victorious in all three, although Val gave him a scare in the second game. Scores were 7-4, 7-6, and 7-2. Kath Smith and Michael Hepburn 26 beat Nick Cram and and Neil Lovett 19 in an Association Croquet doubles game. Kath ran the first hoop, and although Nick at one stage had wrested the lead, the result was never really in doubt.
Vince and Val have been able to continue coaching activities.

Range Croquet Club MalenyWe expect rainy Maleny to turn on some good falls in summer, but when one of our members living on the coastal plain reports 200 millimetres of rain in two days we know that there won't be much croquet played in the Range Croquet Club's regular club hours.
Range Croquet Club MalenyLast week produced a rather mixed bag at the Range Croquet Club, Maleny. In Association Croquet a kind of Canadian barn dance occurred, as two of the players left early, and one of the others swapped to allow wider practice in Golf Croquet.
