Another wet week and not a single Bowl delivered. Perhaps if we had been using a covered, artificial surface on the Precinct not a minutes playing time would have been lost.

Gold Div Swan travelled ( in the rain) to Noosa Heads to play the final match of the season in a fight for the relegation spot. The match was played in persisting rain, and the finish bell was rung when sufficient ends had been played to constitute a game.
The big news this week was the naming on Saturday night of our Men's Pennants Team as the 2010 Sports Team of the year. What an honour.
For a change we managed to play Bowls Tuesday with minimal disruption from rain. The winners with two wins plus 18 were Helga Falcongreen and John Kapetanic who is certainly on a winning streak at present.
Because of the rain and the heat, there wasn't a lot of Bowls played last week. When Bowls were played, the numbers were down.
Sunday 7th February Super Challenge
The home match against the strong Musgrave Hill line up was marred by intermittent and heavy rain, and Swan didn’t come out too well in the wash up.
Last week, Jackpot Pairs/Triples had to be played on Thursday because of the weather. Looks even worse this week at time of writing with rain pelting down and my rain gauge overflowing.
The first Monthly Men's Pairs for 2010 went to the local pair of Cliff Deans and Norm Webster who recorded two wins plus 20. Cliff and Norm filled in to make up the numbers--- thanks for that and congratulations on your win.
The first competition winners for 2010 were the Triples team of Richard Groves, Keith Holdway and Sandra Kapetanic who recorded two wins plus 18.

The 2010 Bowls began on Tuesday on Tuesday of this week with a good roll-up for the first day of play.
Ladies please note our playing year resumes on Thursday 21 January with bowls commencing at 1pm. Our AGM is on 11 February, 2010
