Witta Tennis Results
Friday started out a wet and wild but luckily it changed and turned out to be a good day for tennis. Both the Whistlers and Kestrels were up against Kawana teams. The Whistlers, as expected, had long rallies and many deuces and they also had more good shots with great placement. The Whistlers being the victors 45 to 28 games, 7 to 1 sets. Team was Brenda Warner, Liz Mellish, Donna Kuskopf and Aki Lepper. Well done team and thanks for this season.
The Kestrels were up against the Kawana Kingpins. The team was very aggressive and moved the opposition around the court. The Kestrels ending the season with a fantastic win 47-29; 7 sets to 1. The team was Pauline Fraley, Annie Stewart, Sue Vockenson and Kerry Reilly.
The cake stand was very successful once again and a big thank you to all those who contributed. Nominations are now being taken for the Witta Christmas Cracker Tournament. Entry forms are at the Shed and entries close 27 November.

Ray Daley, great sportsman and one of ‘nature’s gentlemen’ passed away last Saturday at Maleny Hospital. A Requiem Mass will be held at Maleny Catholic Church on Wed 2nd March at 11.00 am.
Once again we were able to play Bowls last week. The new artificial surface is becoming better with every game as our players become accustomed to it.
Congratulations to all of our six swimmers who competed McDonalds State Sprint Championships last weekend (5th and 6th of February). Ben Eggins, Alana Eggins, Alex MackIntosh, Elsa Jonsson, Carl Jonsson and Ziggy Dwyer.
What a welcome change it was to play Bowls 3 times last week and on two of these the green had its full complement of players for Pairs and there were 24 players Friday.
