Witta Hitters team of Kerry, Mary-Lou, Jan and Claire unfortunately lost their semi final to a very determined team Maroochydore TT's who outplayed us on the day. Congratulations to Heather MacDonald and her team, score was 42 to 32 5 sets to 3.
The Wasps team of T, Stacey, Janet and Michelle played great tennis winning by a narrow margin against the Kawana Slammers. The Wasps have secured a place in the finals to be played on 24 November. Good luck Wasps.
The Whistlers were up against Ballinger and unfortunately Jo twisted her ankle in the 1st set and was unable to continue. The Ballinger ladies were kind enough to get someone to play for Jo. The team was Brenda Warner, Jo Williams and Karen, Maree Hooley and Aki Lepper. We hope you'll get better soon, Jo.
The Kestrels had a hard game against the top team Nambas Sprits. With the 1st set lasing over an hour it was going to be a long day especially with rain delays. The Kestrels played great tennis but couldn’t come home with the win going down 42-30. The team was Pauline Fraley, Annie Stewart, Sue Vockenson and Annie Boyd.
The Witta Tennis Golf Challenge was on last Sunday. Even with everyone getting drenched it was a great morning of golf. The winners were: longest drive: men - Mike Hooley; Ladies - Maree Hooley; nearest the pin: men - Paul Secombe; Ladies – Beth Glover. Best team: gross – Richard, Allan, Sam with 62; Nett – Clayton, Chris, Michael and Denis with 53 ½. Wooden spoon: Stan, Denis and Claire.
NO SOCIAL TENNIS THIS Saturday due to a private function. Social will on this Sunday at 1pm. Social tennis is on Monday 8am; Tuesday 7pm, Thursday 8:30pm, Saturday 1pm. All welcome. For court hire and enquiries contact Denis 5494 4055.

Ray Daley, great sportsman and one of ‘nature’s gentlemen’ passed away last Saturday at Maleny Hospital. A Requiem Mass will be held at Maleny Catholic Church on Wed 2nd March at 11.00 am.
Once again we were able to play Bowls last week. The new artificial surface is becoming better with every game as our players become accustomed to it.
Congratulations to all of our six swimmers who competed McDonalds State Sprint Championships last weekend (5th and 6th of February). Ben Eggins, Alana Eggins, Alex MackIntosh, Elsa Jonsson, Carl Jonsson and Ziggy Dwyer.
What a welcome change it was to play Bowls 3 times last week and on two of these the green had its full complement of players for Pairs and there were 24 players Friday.
