Halloween Dress Up
Club night on Wednesday the 3rd of November was Halloween night. There were some truly scary sights but the prize for best costume went to Alice Graham for her awesome witch outfit and her really scary growl. Congratulations Alice.
CLUB CAPTAINS
Congratulations to Carl Jonsson and Alana Eggins who were recently elected club captains for 2010/11 swim season.
Carl and Alana led the Maleny swim team to Cooroy last weekend for the annual twilight carnival. All swimmers continued their amazing success in the pool bringing home a huge medal haul and PB’s. Congratulations to all swimmers and to Coach Tim Dwyer.

Mairead Devlin: 2nd 50m breaststroke, 3rd 50m freestyle
Carl Jonsson: 1st 50m butterfly, 1st 50m backstroke, 2nd 50m breaststroke, 3rd 50m freestyle, 3rd 100m IM
Hudson Ricks, Danica Diefenbach & Matthew Eggins also swam and produced more PB's.
The Diefenbach family also cleaned up with raffles and prizes on the day, with a total of 5 prizes in all.
State Qualifiers
Congratulations to the following Maleny swimmers who have qualified to compete at the State Sprint Championships in February 2011.
Alex Mackintosh - 50m freestyle
Alana Eggins - 50m butterfly and
Ziggy Dwyer - 50m breast stroke. Ziggy is 8 years old and will turn 9 a few days before the State championships. Ziggy has already swum 2 seconds under the 9 year old qualifying time. Super swimming Ziggy!
Carnival Secretary Position

Ray Daley, great sportsman and one of ‘nature’s gentlemen’ passed away last Saturday at Maleny Hospital. A Requiem Mass will be held at Maleny Catholic Church on Wed 2nd March at 11.00 am.
Once again we were able to play Bowls last week. The new artificial surface is becoming better with every game as our players become accustomed to it.
Congratulations to all of our six swimmers who competed McDonalds State Sprint Championships last weekend (5th and 6th of February). Ben Eggins, Alana Eggins, Alex MackIntosh, Elsa Jonsson, Carl Jonsson and Ziggy Dwyer.
What a welcome change it was to play Bowls 3 times last week and on two of these the green had its full complement of players for Pairs and there were 24 players Friday.
