The upgrade has seen a transformation of both the Active Members Club and the Supporters’ Club facilities, taking full advantage of its prime location and giving back to the local community.
“We are delighted to welcome Mr Swan to officially open the new look club. The renovations and upgrade has exceeded all expectations and will significantly enhance the service we offer to the community and the facilities for our dedicated staff and volunteers,” said David Cush, President of the Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
“We are extremely proud to unveil a facility that not only provides our members with world-class equipment and training but we believe the renovation will transform the Coolum beachfront giving our community yet another reason to come along and enjoy the relaxed dining and entertainment in one of the most desirable beachside locations on the Sunshine Coast.”
The state-of-the-art facilities ensure lifesavers are prepared to handle almost any beach emergency and include a fully equipped training room, a new gym for members to maintain their fitness levels, a new outdoor barbeque area and fully equipped kitchen as well as significant storage facilities for equipment and amenities dedicated to nippers.
The bar and restaurant have been extended to take advantage of the panoramic views as well as include new outdoor dining and function areas. The new look club also boasts a designated kids zone, gaming room and TAB area while the existing bistro will offer an exciting new menu.
“This is an important year for our Club and the Coolum community at large, with a number of activities and renovations taking place in the main street providing us the opportunity to reflect on the Club’s role as an integral member of the local community, an iconic part of the Coolum landscape,” said Mr Cush.
The celebrations will take place at the Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club on Saturday, December 12 from 2pm to kick of a week of celebrations.
