Participating Artist, Evangeline Cachinero, is an Australian emerging artist based on the Sunshine Coast. She has an international background, having been raised in Australia, Spain and the USA and has been back on the coast for 10 years.
Cachinero’s themes in her artwork are an reflection of herself: stubborn towards conformity, refusing to be defined, always moving forward, bright and quirky, expressive yet with objective, philosophical and crafty.
Her latest series, Cutting it, is a collection of Russian Dolls depicting relationships between couples, families and friends. She has built a little town of Dolls where each painting is full of personality. Cachinero rides a thin line between the humorous and the bizarre, in line with her constant contradictions, which make her art powerful.
Evangeline works out of her studio in the Sunshine Coast in a beautiful leafy surround. She juggles working as an art director for an advertising agency with painting and being a sole parent. She is also currently studying correspondence for her Master of Visual Arts. She will have paintings, giclee prints, postcards and more available for sale and display.
