Currimundi Creek is a natural watercourse that is partly urbanised by housing development and partly left as native bushland. It is a wonderful breeding ground for fish and mud crabs but is suffering the stresses of increased urban run-off and people usage. Erosion is the major problem. The waters of the creek flow into Currimundi Lake and then out to the sea. Keeping the waters and banks clean of all rubbish will protect the native wildlife both in and along Currimundi Creek.
Join the Currimundi Catchment Care Group for two hours to help clean up, protect and conserve the environment.

Meeting Point: There will be a sign-on table beside the Creekside Boulevard Bridge as it crosses Currimundi Creek. Look for signs along Creekside Boulevard to the table. Volunteers will have to park on Creekside Boulevard or one of the nearby streets and walk back to the bridge. You will then be directed to different areas on both sides of the creek to collect rubbish from along the pathways. Those with a kayak or canoe can collect rubbish from the banks of Currimundi Creek. Just paddle in to where the table is set up on the bank beside the bridge. Everyone must sign on first. The Council's Waterways boat will help with distributing and collecting bags from those along the paths and in the water. Bring waterbottle, hat, gloves and suitable footwear if you are entering the water. (The arrow on the map does not show the correct spot along Currimundi Creek}
