Ithaca-Caloundra City Life Saving Club will receive funding as part of Queensland Government funding for not-for-profit organisations.
The Caloundra community organisation was just one of 44 groups to share in over $1.25 million of grants from the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.
Minister responsible for Gaming, Peter Lawlor said the fund provided much-needed money to groups that worked with the community.
"Queensland is lucky to have organisations like these working for the community. Most of the people involved in these organisations volunteer hours of time, dedicated to providing a service for their community," Mr Lawlor said.
"The Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund allows the State Government to support the important work of these not-for-profit organisations.
"Through grant funding they are able to provide services to help educate people, enhance community safety and improve sport and leisure activities and opportunities to those who might not otherwise have them."
"The Ithaca-Caloundra City Life Saving Club for example will be using their $10 200 grant to purchase an all-terrain vehicle."
The Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund provides one-off grants of up to
$150 000 to not-for-profit organisations throughout Queensland.
Not-for-profit organisations have been provided with more than $82 million since the fund was launched, helping Queensland community groups implement over 3 200 necessary and enriching projects.
Mr Lawlor said applying for grants had become significantly easier since the launch of the online application website in September.
"The feedback we are receiving is that the new online process is saving community organisations considerable time and effort, and cutting down on a lot of paperwork," he said.
Grant allocations are announced quarterly and applications are accepted at any time. Further information on grants is ava ilable on the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation website at www.olgr.qld.gov.au
