It’s time to get out the easels and sketch pads once again for the 29th Immanuel Arts Festival, the largest community arts event on the Coast. Hosted by Immanuel Lutheran College, the festival will be opened with a gala event on Thursday 20 May and then to the public from 20-23 May.
Paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and photography from across the state will be on display and available for purchase. To encourage younger artists in the community, the Sunshine Coast Schools Art Competition – one of three categories at the festival – will be open to all students from 12-18 years of age.
Entries are now invited from interested artists. The cost of entry is $15 ($10 for student artists) and there are a number of cash and incentive prizes including the People’s Choice Award. Conditions of entry and entry forms are available now at www.immanuel.qld.edu.au
“Each year, the festival is organised by the Parents & Friends Association of Immanuel Lutheran College and is a wonderful example of a truly community-driven event,” said Convenor Robyn Woodrow.
“In 2010, we have brought together a number of outstanding artists and photographers who will offer workshops and advice to aspiring artists,” said Ms Woodrow.
