Maleny Credit Union celebrated their 25^th birthday with a street party yesterday.

As a thank you to the local community for their support over the past 25 years a free sausage sizzle was on offer as well as the opportunity to become a member of the Credit Union, waiving the usual $10 joining fee. 

And what birthday would be complete without a birthday cake! Credit Union Chairman Alan Harrington performing the honours in the official, cutting of the cake.

While many businesses have faltered, especially during these especially tough economic times, the Maleny Credit Union has shown great resilience and has matured into a solid financial enterprise while retaining its founding values.

The 25^th year will also be important for the history of the Credit Union with the commencement of two major projects.

The first of these is its building upgrade.  Artist impressions on display confirmed that these renovations will provide a more spacious and modern member environment.

The second significant project will be the migration to a new Tier 1 Banking System from Rubik Financial Limited, providing members with a range of new and improved services.

MCU has a strong future ahead, moving forward to become a one-stop shop, offering all types of financial services and products under the one roof. The MCU Board of Directors are committed to long term sustainability and believe the credit union has social and environmental obligations in addition to providing sound financial management.
