Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie is encouraging local businesses to sponsor the Chant for Change 2012 charity concert to be held on 7 and 8 September at the Lake Kawana Community Centre.
Chant for Change was started in 2008 by two Sunshine Coast teenagers who wanted to inspire other creative young people within the community to make a positive difference in the world.
This year, Chant for Change is hoping to raise $50,000 for Destiny Rescue, a charity rescuing children around the world from human trafficking. Destiny Rescue will use the money to set up a rescue home in Bangkok.
“To reach their fundraising goal, Chant for Change is seeking support from local businesses.
“This is a great cause and I would ask our local business community to consider sponsoring the event or at the very least donating an item for the raffle.
“This year’s Chant for Change concert will feature performances from Boy & Girl, KelsieRimmer and Soul Studio.
“The concerts are suitable for all ages and I look forward to seeing everyone there.”
